How ridiculous men are
with many dreams of greatness and of
conquest
in the midst of their poor possessions
made of pride and of stone.
Even this little humpbacked spider,
who has spun his threads of foam
between a picture and a door,
must certainly believe he has established
a net of communications
between two Continents.
LET HER PASS
A tall veiled woman
with pensive eyes
wanders thoughtfully
through the cemeteries
of the earth.
Let her pass. . . . . .
She is Glory looking
for the names of her sons
on the white faces
of tombstones.
